STUDIO POLICIES

Welcome! We are excited to share this musical journey with you!

  • Scheduling
Lessons are offered weekly or bi-weekly. Lessons are either 45 minutes or one hour in length. If you are interested in a group (or buddy lesson), please inquire.
  • Fees
Lessons are $125 for one hour and $90 for 45 minutes. If you are interested in a group (or buddy lesson), please inquire. A late fee of $25 will be charged for any invoices not paid in full by the 10th of the month.
  • Payment
Lessons are purchased as a package of four at a time. For new/prospective students the first lesson may be purchased alone. Thereafter, all lessons must be purchased as a group of four. Tuition includes your face to face lesson as well as the teacher’s preparation time outside of the lesson. Lesson fees do not include the cost of music, accompanist fees or other fees associated with lessons. Please be assured that your tuition is always working for you. We spend a great deal of time outside of lessons planning, choosing repertoire, answering correspondence and researching the best tools for each student. We kindly remind all students and families that—between recital rehearsals, recitals, master classes, and studio events—students receive more professional time than is actually paid for. All payments are to be made online through PayPal. All lessons are to be paid for prior to the lesson taking place. Once you register for lessons and confirm a time/date and length, you will be invoiced.
  • Attendance/Missed Lessons
Once you have paid for your lessons and schedule your lesson time, that time is held just for you. You have contracted the exclusive use of that specific time. Regular attendance at scheduled lessons and regular practice is essential to ensure continual progress. Should it be necessary to miss a lesson for any reason please notify the studio in advance. If you do not notify us by 8am on the day of your lesson you will be charged for your lesson.
  • Teacher Cancellation
If we need to cancel due to emergency or illness, a makeup lesson will be given at a time that is amenable to both teacher and student.
  • Commitment and Practice
It is expected that the students approach their music lessons with enthusiasm, curiosity and a positive attitude! Students are expected to practice outside of their lesson. We will work together with student and parent to set a practice schedule. It is only with consistent practice that results will be made.
  • Modification of Terms
At our discretion, Zamek Music may edit, add, or remove parts of this agreement. If we do make changes to these Studio Policies, you will be provided with reasonable advance notice.
  • Communication Between Lessons
We are always available to answer questions. We encourage you to contact us with any questions that you may have during the week. The preferred method is email. However, if you prefer to speak on the phone, you are welcome to call. We encourage parents to be as involved as they can/would like to be. This will only help your child as they begin their musical journey. We have a Facebook page (Zamek Music) and do post regular updates as well as videos with vocal tips and more! Please follow us both on Facebook and on Instagram.
  • Music and Materials
Students are responsible for providing their own music, water bottle, music “notebook," and/or other items as necessary. If we have the music you are working on, we will happily send you a PDF. If we are unable to secure a copy we will send you a link to purchase it for yourself. We also provide many other essentials such as sight-reading materials and music theory worksheets.
  • Termination of Lessons
Because lessons are paid in advance, students are expected to complete the block of purchased lessons. If a student should decide to discontinue lessons at any time before the end of the block a refund will not be given.
  • Recitals
Two recitals are offered each year. We encourage all students to participate and attend. It is a wonderful opportunity for growth and performance practice. It is also a chance for students to show support towards their peers. Additionally, masterclasses may be held periodically held for the benefit of the entire studio.
  • Online Lessons
Lessons are conducted via Zoom Meetings. Parents are asked to stay in the room during online lessons. 10-15 minutes may be added to the lesson time during the first few lessons to be sure that everyone feels comfortable with the technology. Other online events such as recitals, masterclasses and more will be held periodically. All that is needed is a device with a webcam, a microphone, and an internet connection. Before your first lesson begins you will receive instructions about how to best configure your settings to get the most from your experience.
  • COVID-19 Policy
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all lessons are currently being offered online. Virtual options are available for voice students. Lessons will be conducted via a private Zoom Meeting.
  • Purpose Statement
The purpose of these policies is to ensure that all students have a clear understanding of what is expected of them and of what they can expect from Zamek Music. This provides a better learning environment for the student and allows us to provide a high-quality musical education for all.
  • Disclaimer
