Originally from Putnam County, New York, Renee Browne grew up with a love for the performing arts, being featured as a singer, dancer, pianist and actress in numerous local recitals and productions. Since then, she has taught in many private and public settings, and also enjoyed participating in the work-study program at Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan.
Renee was a full-time choral director and general music teacher at Marine Park Junior High School in Brooklyn, NY for 6 years. Under her direction, over 200 students performed in piano recitals, musical productions, concerts, competitions, and music festivals each year. She was the music director for 5 school musicals, including Bye Bye Birdie, Little Shop of Horrors, and Cinderella. Each year, Renee was the vocal coach for the annual gala for Inside Broadway, which featured students from Marine Park Junior High.
She earned her undergraduate degree in music education from New York University with concentrations in voice and piano. At her Masters ceremony, Renee was awarded the Jean Wilhelm Award for best major paper from the Masters in Arts Administration program at Goucher College in Maryland. Renee has also earned 12 additional graduate credits from the HARTT Music School in West Hartford, CT.
